Inner monkey (my poem)

I am by no means a poet, but a fair while back, I had to write a poem for english. at the time I was still learning Parkour at school, so that is what I wrote about.
I will post it below.

Inner monkey

He runs past

A blurred shadow

He vaults over the barrier

Effortlessly

The ground is unimportant

To him

He is fearless

The distance he has to fall is trivial

He is a cat, landing with precision

He is a dog, bounding by

The ground thunders under his feet

His heart is a drum

Pumping life into his limbs

He leaps from the ground

A lion pouncing

He clings to the top of the wall

A fugitive, fleeing nothing

But attaining…

Inner

Power

He slips over the top of the wall

A snake

And he flings himself over the edge

He seems to fall in slow motion

He is flying

To the earth

The earth, sprinting toward him

A bull

Charging.

He lands, and rolls

He is liquid,

Flowing

Rolling away from a danger

He has conquered gravity

And it is a part of him

An extension of his body

A force that he controls

With his iron will

The earth sighs,

Disappointed

He is a traceur

Releasing his inner monkey

Running past

Nothing but a blurred shadow.

I have also gone to the trouble of licensing it, with creative commons

this means, you can post this poem to your website, as long as you link back here. You can't 'remix' it, you can't sell or make money from it. It lets me put it out there, and know that you can't rip me off.

the data proof fence of australia, to be constructed after kevie was jelous of the great firewall of china.

this is sad, its slow enough already, and the fail rate is far to high for a filter to have any effect. I do NOT want to have to use TOR to access legitimate sites. This is bullshit, when do the riots start?

A whole bunch of cool new things!

Its a good day to be me (unless we all get sucked into a black hole, so lets hope that doesn't happen.)
I got new headphones, w00t! creative ep 635 (I think) awesome inner earphones (canal phones) with some awesome bass. (the packet said they go down to 6 hz, that's looooooooow.) Naturally, I did a little bit of research before my purchase, you know, earbudsvs canal phones, vs headphones stuff. Came across some interesting stuff. Earbuds are more likely to kill your hearing, because they let sound from outside in. This means that you crank the music up, because you can't hear it, and go slowly deaf. On the other hand, head phones and canal phones block out everything, meaning you can comfortably listen to anything (yes, even linux reality, very quiet podcast presenter) at very low volumes. The problem is, the world around you has some pretty important stuff to tell you. Like that car that's screaming down the road, means its time to MOVE! (not something you want to find out about to late.) So how do we choose, hearing or the world around us (don't say don't listen to music, it soothes the soul.)

My mp3 player will be back from repair soon, but since it has been gone, my music collection has gone from 3.8Gb, to 7.6Gb, which wont fit on my 4Gb mp3 player Problem solved, but where will I find $319? (time to start saving meethinks).

New ubuntu brainstorm! Ok, lets look back a bit, remember the last ubutnu brainstorm (at time of writing, still the current one.) its crap. no, really, full of pointless dribble, and crap. There is a new one coming soon, with some pretty cool new things
  1. When you try and submit a new idea, it automatically checks for dupes (like the UF used to, before the forum upgrade)
  2. When you try and submit an idea, it asks if you are trying to make a bug report, or ask for a package to be added to the repos, and gives you links to the appropriate place to do so.
  3. You can take an idea, and post your own solution.
  4. Newer, more intuitive interface.
  5. more levels of ideas, when you submit an idea, it goes to the sandbox. It then needs to be approved by a mod or and idea reviewer, and can then be voted on.
  6. I am and idea reviewer
That's right, I get the honor of being an idea reviewer (and if this takes off like I think it will, soon to bumped up to full mod) for the new ubuntu brainstorm, which might actually achieve something (the last one really was crap, really.)

It's a good day to be me.

I was just thinking about conky, and I had an epiphany

There needs to be a conky builder, that lets you drag and drop the features you want in your conky setup, and will then give you the conky.rc file, ready to be used. I think it would really bring conky to the masses. What do you think.

I just had the best Idea for a compiz plugin

Ok, so I was browsing the net, and listening to music with my new headphones, which give great bass. I got to a really bassy track, at the same time as I found this. The article isn't that great, but, scroll down to the recommended books section, on the right of the page. look at the effect when you mouse over the book cover. It's quite hard to explain, you have to see it for yourself. Anyway, I quite liked this effect, and found myself mousing over these covers, when I discovered, they almost looked like speakers fluctuating. If you don't believe me, get a serious bass filled track (SANDSTORM) and mouse over it in time with the bass line. It looks freaking awesome! I want to see an entire X session do that, in time with music. What do you think?
